Our goal is to be the best furniture store in Colorado based on our eye for beauty, appreciation of family, utter insistence on quality and, pivotal to all of this, commitment to great customer service. Founder and owner Scott Larrabee opened our first store in Fort Collins based on a simple belief: the customer comes first. Since 2013, that belief is on full display daily at our 48,000 square-foot showroom in Littleton.
We know our guests want a broad selection, from contemporary casual to traditional. They also expect exceptional value. So we constantly offer gorgeous statement pieces and fashion-forward collections from luxury brands like Lexington, Caracole, Drexel Heritage, Henredon, Huntington House, Norwalk and more. Then, through Scott’s ability to purchase and negotiate masterfully, we pass theses savings along to you.
Our mission is also to share our love of furniture and design, by helping you express yours. We’ve secured some of Denver’s top designers and consultants to bring your vision to life beautifully. For us, this is the true meaning of “the customer comes first.” It’s our privilege and pleasure to make you feel so welcomed and relaxed - and to have so many lovely options to select from – that expressing your personal style is a fun, exciting experience.
In 1974, Scott Larrabee followed in his grandfather and father’s footsteps, opening Larrabee’s Home Furnishings in Fort Collins. Lee, his father and mentor, started in the business with his father Howard in 1943. Scott talked Lee out of retirement to help open his store. Owned and operated by Scott and wife Carolyn, they became the choice in Northern Colorado for beautiful home furnishings and great service.
In that time, Scott developed an eye for exceptional quality and style in hand-selecting pieces for his store. He passed this love of design, inspiration and service to his children: Erin, Heather and Matt. In 2013, he also came out of retirement to open Larrabee’s Furniture + Design. Each piece reflects Scott’s vision for style and quality. And each delivers on the Larrabee legacy for unique, fine furniture at affordable prices.
Today, in their most recent Littleton location, the family is actively involved daily in the operations of the store. The industry relationships they’ve built enable Larrabee’s to offer the most stunning collections in Denver. A national representative from Furniture Today said our stunning showroom is one of the country’s top five most beautiful. We also think what makes it so special is the warm, comfortable, family atmosphere you’ll feel the moment you walk in the store.
Scott and Carolyn Larrabee
Scott and Carolyn met in high school in Boulder, Colorado in 1969. Scott is a third generation furniture retailer whose first job was at his father’s store over 53 years ago. He went on to open his own store on Mountain Avenue in 1974 in Fort Collins, Colorado. He and Carolyn were leading downtown business owners and helped spearhead the revitalization of Old Town Fort Collins as it exists today. With pride and enthusiasm, they opened what they both agree is the most beautiful and trend-setting store they’ve operated in their career – Larrabee’s Furniture + Design, in Littleton, Colorado. Each piece in Larrabee’s Furniture + Design is a reflection of their shared vision of beauty, style, quality, and value. Customers benefit from Scott’s ability to purchase and negotiate masterfully—passing the savings along to them. Larrabee’s Furniture + Design has fast become the go-to retail location for Colorado residents, and has gained national renown for being 2-3 years ahead—rated as a Top 100 Furniture Retailer by both Furniture Today and Casual Living Magazine. Scott and Carolyn are thrilled to have two of their three grown children working in the business as well in leadership roles. Scott and Carolyn live by basic business principles that span the test of time: honesty, value, service, and integrity. They treat every customer as a guest in their home, and invite you to visit the showroom to create the home of your dreams.
